For most families, vacation time is anticipated all year long. Yet, putting together a family vacation can be stressful. You have to make sure the hotels and flights are booked, you have a rental car ready, and you’ve packed everything you need. Traveling in an RV can relieve all that stress. So why should you consider taking an RV for your next vacation?
Freedom of Schedule
When you’re flying into a destination, you are stuck with those flight times. This means adjusting your schedule accordingly. When you vacation in an RV, you can leisurely travel the way you please. This means making pit stops at fun roadside attractions and visiting family members and friends along the way. If you don’t like one destination, you can simply get up and move onto the next.
Affordability
Have you ever sat down and tried to calculate how much a hotel, flights, a rental car, and more costs? With an RV, you don’t have to worry about any of that. Even if you’re renting an RV, you’ll likely find ways to stay affordably. You’ve already got your hotel and rental covered by driving a home on wheels. Plus, you’re more likely to cook meals rather than eat out for every meal. And if you want to bring your own sports equipment (snowboards, surfboards, golf clubs, etc.), you have the room rather than renting.
Unplug
While our phones do a lot for us, there are times where it’s nice to disconnect and enjoy the world around you. While RVing, there’s a good chance that you’ll find yourself with no service and no Wi-Fi. Taking this time to bond with your family is a great way to bring everyone closer.
Similar to Glamping
Ever heard of glamping? Glam camping? It’s the idea that you’re in the outdoors yet you don’t have to deal with the minor inconveniences like bugs, pitching tents, and poor weather conditions. You can sit around the campfire cooking s’mores and then head inside and enjoy AC or heat while you lay in your comfortable bed. You’re still getting that one-with-nature experience, but with your own bathroom and warm shower.
Bring Everyone
If you have a larger family or want to bring friends, traveling in RV allows you to bring everyone. There are a variety of sizes for RVs so if you need a larger one, it’s always possible. Plus, you can bring the dogs with you and what vacation is complete without the dogs?
Meet New People
While there are always hundreds of other guests at hotels, the chances that you sit down and make conversation with them is slim. When in an RV campsite, oftentimes there are communal areas where you can meet new people with similar interests.
Family Time
Overall, taking an RV is a great way to spend time with your family. It keeps everyone relaxed and happy (even if the kids do yell at each other every so often) and it creates memories that they’re never going to forget. Becoming unplugged from the world and spending time with one another is something you can’t pass up.
